Yes you read right its the Xiaomi the electronic manufacturing company from China is making to the headlines of Automotive world. Xiaomi recently showcased their SU7 Ultra in Spain and making it the list of the fastest production car after just 3 years since its launch. Even the CEO of Ford Jim Farley used the Xiaomi SU7 for six months, and he doesn't want to give up the car. That's why I thought of dedicating this blog to Xiamo SU7.

Exteriors: Sedan with Coefficient of drag just 0.19!

From its side profile the Xiaomi SU7, it gives a strong reflection of the Porsche Panamera and from front Mclaren 750S. From rear end, its Hyundai IONIQ 6, honestly there is no distinctive character to the Xiaomi SU7. However, it is well balanced but not the most outstanding looking car on the road. Xiaomi has a great thing in their DNA that can photostat expensive products with advance technology at unbelievable price. The same thing Xiaomi has applied while producing the SU7. You get great looks from one of the desirable cars on the planet with best technology at affordable price! One highlight about Xiaomi SU7 its coefficient of drag which is just 0.19! To give you a comparison the Bugatti Chiron has 0.36 which is double! Lower coefficient of drag means the object can move easily through air smoothly. Overall nothing exclusive to talk about the Xiaomi SU7 from exterior perspective, but yes its a handsome car!

Interiors: Simple Yet Elegant

The interiors of Xiaomi SU7 are subtle with minimalistic approach. The interiors are not dull thanks to amazing colours one can choose based on the personal preference. At a glance the interiors has some similarities with the NIO ET7, as it has 7.1 inch driver display fitted nicely in the dashboard along with HUD. At the center the Xiaomi SU7 has 15.6 inch OLED central display with no buttons at all! Therefore you the central display holds the power to control all the functionalities of the car. I am glad that Xiaomi SU7 has no more screens that we don't need! Xiaomi SU7 is a 5 seater sedan with 4 doors and a practical boot space of 517 liters at the back. Like any other sports car or premium EV, the Xiaomi SU7 has 105 litres of storage space at the front which is cool! The interiors are lit up with 64 different combinations of the light. If you are a music lover then Xiaomi SU7 won't disappoint you, thanks to it 19 speaker setup by Harman Kardon. The seats and interiors are stitched with vegan leather. Besides you get Xiaomi developed voice command feature that can assist you to control your car. One of the key highlight of Xiaomi SU7 are the frame-less doors! It nothing adds much to features but frame-less doors are kind of cool, as it saves the weight. Overall, the interiors are subtle with comfortable seats and ample amount of storage capacity enabling practicality.

Performance: 0 to 200 kmph in 10.67 secs!

Performance is one of the main reason that the Xiaomi SU7 stands out from any hyper or sports car in the world! The Xiaomi SU7 can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.67 seconds! The higher variant of Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is able to churn out 1527 hp with 1200 Nm torque! The base variant called Xiaomi SU7 Standard is fast enough that can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds which is amazing with top speed of 210 kmph. This amazing performance figures are thanks to its electric motors and battery technology developed in collaboration with CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd) one of the leading battery technology manufacturer based in China. The electric motors are inhouse developed by Xiaomi under the HyperEngine series. These motors are working on the principle of Induction motor capable of achieving 21000 rpm and 800 Volt with 220 kW output! The one electric motor weighs just 89 kg with 95% efficiency! That's the secret sauce of Xiaomi of in-house technology development saving costs and having no dependencies on the suppliers. Additionally, the Xiaomi SU7 has amazing stopping power thanks to Brembo brakes! Kudos to Xiaomi, as I strongly believe that they have a vision to deliver a sports car like performance to every household at affordable price!

Features and Safety: List goes on!

The Xiaomi SU7 is loaded with tonnes of features along with safety features. To highlight one is Intelligent Cabin that offers seamless connectivity from Home x Car x Human. Xiaomi is more of intelligent lifestyle company and not just an electric appliance manufacturer. Their smart homes along with Xiaomi SU7 will have seamless connectivity for better safety as well as ease of access. The Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with 11 camera, Lidar sensor and NVIDIA Drive Orin platform that offers advanced driver assistance features with possibility of autonomous driving. One can customize the driving experience by modifying Xiaomi SU7's driving dynamics offering unlimited driving modes! Shell of Xiaomi SU7 is made up of Steel Aluminium Armored Cage offering amazing strength to bear the impact. On top of this the Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with 7 air bags as standard making sure the passengers are safe in case of impact. The 16 safety features are standard across all variants of the Xiaomi SU7. The Xiaomi SU7 is available in 4 variants, currently on sale only in China! However, the Xiaomi SU7 will be made available in global markets mainly in Europe and US in 2027 (Just 2 years to go!) The pricing of the variants is mentioned in the table. Yes its true the variants are named like mobile phone versions Std, Pro, Max and Ultra! The pricing of Xiaomi SU7 is unbelievable and offering best performance to pricing ratio!

To cut the story short, Xiaomi has created an amazing product that offers amazing performance, practicality at unbelievable pricing that no other car manufacturer will be able to match! The Xiaomi has sold almost 130.000 SU7 in 2024 only in China! That clearly reflects why German Manufacturers are struggling to perform well in China. The Xiaomi SU7 is clearly a car that can do wonders by challenging the car companies to compete at any parameter.
